A CHORUS OF DISAPPROVAL
By Alan Ayckbourn
Directed by Cynthia Cahill
Sunday 31st August, 1:30p.m. at the Theatre
12 Spring Street, Onehunga
SYNOPSIS
This multi award winning play follows the trials and tribulations of an
amateur operatic society during the rehearsal period of “The Beggars Opera”.
Stumbling into an early rehearsal is a shy young widower called Guy who is
quickly pounced upon with glee and given a minor role in the show. He soon rises
through the ranks (and romps through the ranks of the female members) to become
Macheath, the star of the show – but at what cost? This fabulous show includes
many songs and choruses from John Gay’s old masterpiece.
