The Runner Stumbles
By Milan Stitt

DIRECTOR'S SYNOPSIS
It is always said that truth is stranger than fiction. If any proof was
needed then this story of a small-town scandal centred on the alleged murder of
a young nun by a Catholic priest should provide it.
Today such a voyeuristic headline would assure sales, but "The Runner
Stumbles" reveals itself as a touching story of faith, innocence, and that most
dreadful human sadness, loneliness.
It becomes a microcosm of the human condition, it's spirit, it's strengths
and weaknesses. Perhaps when we accept unfounded rumours and whispers
about others, we say more about ourselves than the people we slander.
