Tons Of Money

By Will Kane & Valentine, adapted by Alan Ayckbourn

17th June - 8th July 2006

SYNOPSIS

Originally an Aldwych farce, this play was revised by Sir Alan Ayckbourn - a favourite writer with Dolphin audiences.

Unsuccessful inventor Aubrey Allington inherits a life interest in a fortune that will revert on his death to his cousin George Maitland. Cousin George is thought to have died abroad. So Aubrey's lovely (but slightly dotty) wife Louise hits on a brilliant idea - Aubrey will fake his own death to avoid his horrendous debts, and return as reborn Cousin George to enjoy the money.

But, yes, you guessed it - Louise's ‘brilliant' idea goes wrong. As Aubrey turns up as George, another impostor appears as George, and THEN the real George unexpectedly arrives! The ensuing confusion provides hilarious and steadily escalating mayhem.
